Pumpkin Patch Friday
It was a beautiful day to be outside with the sun shining brightly and the cool autumn breeze blowing. We were suppose to meet with the other homeschooled kids but we did not see them. There were about five busloads of preschoolers that it was like finding nemo in the ocean. So we just decided to do the tour by ourselves. We got on the first hayride that we saw. Then off we go to the field to check out the pumpkin patch. On the adjacent fields we saw the cotton and the sunflower fields. Once we got to the pumpkin patch, the tractor stopped in the middle of the field, and the driver/teacher/entertainer gave a short lecture on pumpkins and the different varieties that they grow in their farm. It was quite entertaining and informative for the kids and grown ups like me who's knowledge of a pumpkin is very limited to that of Cinderalla's carriage and a pumpkin pie! :D

You pay $4 per person, you get on the trailer pulled by a tractor and you sit on bales of hay (hey, hayride!?!?!). You then hear a lot of ohhhhs, ahhhhhs! And of course you also hear a lot of cool, awesome, neat and sit on your bottom! (lol)

(The hay ride driver/lecturer/entertainer)
While holding a female flower he asked the group,
"How can you tell the male from the female flowers? Simple, the male flowers are just pretty" lol Ok, just got to give it to him, after all he is the one wearing that funny costume!

(No wonder the scarecrow has that silly grin!)
He said that a lot of people missed out on getting the best part of the pumpkin, where all the good stuff is and its in the GUTS! Eeeeooow! Without much prompting the kids can be heard chanting "Eat pumpkin, guts!" "Eat pumpkin, guts!" and so he did! Kids enjoyed it, adults grossed out! Me? NAH, I come from a wonderful place where people loves balut, adidas and dinugu-an! Yum!

They sat still and paid attention . . . rare, precious moment! :D

The cotton field which B calls the MARSHMALLOW FIELD, don't they look like one? Didn't somebosy think that calamay from Bohol grow in trees, too? And I dreamt of Chocolate Hills to be real . . . chocolate!
